WHAT WE DO
SOME OF THE THINGS WE DO
Bulbs for the Blind Every Year we take out hyacinth bulbs to the blind in our community. We send hyacinths because of their intense perfume, which blind people can appreciate, if they can't see the flowers. The Boundary Walk, Run & Pike Hike which takes place each spring takes quite a bit of organising but is well supported and a good fund raiser for local charities. Shelter boxes These are large boxes containing a tent and the basic essentials for surviving disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis etc.
Support Local Organisations Social events “Rotary is Fun” and we hold a number of social events during the year. An different local environmental project each year. Stewarding at the Todmorden Agricultural Show and Todmorden Country Fair.

Todmorden New Newsdesk A cycling event called 2WheelTod was hosted on Sunday 29th August by Todmorden Rotary Club on the grounds of Todmorden High School. This is the first event of its kind organised by the Rotary club and attracted over five hundred people from the town and further afield. Among the attractions were an adult bike challenge, Bike rodeo, mountain bike race, trials bike course and a silly bike challenge which included a penny-farthing cycle. The town mayor Pat Taylor attended the event and described many of the attractions as amazing and a great family day out for the townsfolk of Todmorden. She was keen to see events of this type being introduced to the calendar for the benefit of both children and adults, especially as they promote a healthy lifestyle. Empowered People, disability cycling group put on a great display and those keen to challenge their physical skills were well provided for by Physique gym’s spin bikes. The main event was a series of bike skills and BMX displays hosted by Mobile Bike Events. These spectacular displays delighted the crowds and were performed by riders who are ex World and European BMX standard riders. Rotary Club President Derek Davies described the event as a great success thanks to the hard work of the club and many volunteers who helped to run the event. He acknowledged the kind support of the Town Council and Community Foundation for Calderdale without whom the day would not have been possible. Thanks to support from the local community, it is hoped to make 2WheelTod an annual event and become a regular feature of the towns attractions.
